Last Sunday, more than 3,000 people completed a 4.2-mile race to honor former NFL star and slain Army hero Pat Tillman in San Jose, where he grew up. "There was nothing dark about Pat except his death,'' said Mary Lydanne Tillman, his mother. "He loved activity and the atmosphere at races and marathons. So this was the perfect event for him.''
